Welcome!

Welcome to the official blog for Amish Waffle Productions! Allow us to begin be telling you a bit about ourselves:

Our names are Jonathan Jackson and Jake Bennett. We are students at the University of Alabama, majoring in Telecommunications and Film and we are both from Huntsville, AL. Our goal is to one day make films in Hollywood. We began working together a few years ago when we met through a mutual friend. We both began to find that we both were interested in film making, and started to talk more often, and soon we were collaborating about short films and other projects.

Jonathan is more interested in the behind-the-scenes type stuff. He specializes more in directing and writing, but also does videography and editing. He only acts when he has to, as he thinks he does a terrible job at it. He plays a supporting character in our latest YouTube video that will be mentioned in a later post. Jonathan's directing and writing influences include, but are not limited to Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, the Coen Brothers, and Mel Brooks.

Jake is just the opposite of Jonathan. He is an actor and writer, specializing primarily in comedy. He is seen in all of Amish Waffle's productions, usually playing the lead. He knows a little about editing and directing, but leaves that to Jonathan. Jake's influences are rather extensive as far as acting and writing go. Some of them are Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow, Jack Black, and Simon Pegg.

The both co-write projects frequently, ranging from short comedic pieces, to short films, and a feature length scripts. Their first ever collaboration, a short film called Conceited, won the two an award from the University of Alabama's Creative Campus for "Best Narrative Film" in 2007.

Currently, the two are trying to get their feature-length comedy made into a film and are working on a few smaller projects.

We are starting this blog to chronicle our mission to make it big in the movie industry. Plus, it just gives us something to do in between now and then.

Thank you so much for taking a look at our blog. Please tell others about us and encourage them to visit our blog and look at our videos on YouTube.
